Every year, thousands of missing persons carry smartphones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, wireless earbuds, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Even when individuals cannot be visually located, these devices often continue to transmit Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signals.
Traditional SAR Equipment such as thermal cameras and visual observation systems can be limited by dense forests, rocky terrain, poor weather conditions, darkness, debris, or vegetation. BLE detection provides an additional layer of search capability by detecting wireless signals that remain invisible to the human eye.
By identifying and tracking Bluetooth signals from nearby devices, rescue teams can dramatically reduce search areas, improve situational awareness, and increase the probability of detection.
